The St. Mary Center of Hope is an organization sponsored by The ARC of St. Mary. The ARC of St. Mary has been in existence since 1962. In 1972, we moved to our present location at 100 Missouri Street in Centerville. We have been providing vocational services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in St. Mary Parish.
We currently provide services for 20 individuals from throughout St. Mary Parish. We have a licensing capacity of 65, but currently our facility cannot meet this need. The buildings at our current site have deteriorated severely and we cannot provide services to everyone we would like. We have had to move our newspaper recycling department to our administrative building. These buildings are over 35 years old.
Since 2005, we have been trying to raise funds to construct a new training and administrative facility to be able to provide quality services to our consumers. As of this year we have raised $100,000.00 of the $400,000.00 we need. We will continue to push to make this dream come true for our consumers.
Our training programs include areas such as; janitorial, lawn maintenance, recycling, retail stock clerk and more. The individuals are employed in these vocational fields.
The mission of the ARC of St. Mary and Center of Hope is to encourage each participant to discover and develop his/her maximum potential as a productive citizen.
The vision of the ARC of St. Mary and Center of Hope is to provide quality leadership and opportunities to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
